The first recorded meeting of the Mt Ayr Friends Church was on December 30th, 1874. Zimri Gregory was reported to have been the first Quaker family to arrive in the community and was instrumental in organizing worship in informal groups.
Omar
Gregory was the only recorded Minister in the early days. In the late
1960's the Chalk Mound Church closed and the church building was then
attached to the north end of the current Mt Ayr Church building.
We,
as a church, stand firm on the teaching of GOD's word. We believe that
times and cultures change, but GOD and HIS word NEVER changes. HE is the
same today, yesterday and forever. Our passion in ministry is to see
lives changed and impacted by the truth of GOD's living word.
We
want to be a beacon for Jesus. We pray God will lead us to be a
shining light for all people to know the grace and power of His love,
and that He offers grace and forgiveness to all who call on Him. We pray
He will show us how to serve others to the best of our abilities.
