The Alton Community Room (brick building) originally housed the Farmers State Bank (1880s-1907 and 1915-1932); the Farmers Unions Grocery Store (1935-1964; Corner Grocery Store (1964-1988. In 1988 the City bought the building, turning the meat-cutting room into their office and leasing the remainder of the building complex to Alton Pride in 1992.

This is a great venue to hold your next event. Community groups and civic organization my rent the building fee. of charge. The rental fee for other events is $25.

 Remember that there is not a kitchen available and there is only a small sink that is available to us.
