Class of 1949: Betty (Hale) Fenton, Alton, Dec. 18, 1931 – Apr. 6, 2026, Hutchinson, Kan. Parents: Tom Hale; Nettie Gregory Hale, AHS 1914. Siblings: Frances Brent, AHS 1937; Esther “Peggy” Palmer, AHS 1939; Patsy Ballard, AHS 1943; Carrie Fry, AHS 1940; Tim Hale, AHS 1948. Peggy worked 51 years in bookkeeper and secretarial positions. In her free time she volunteered countless hours to serving her church and Reno County 4-H positions, plus was a devoted Kansas City Royals and St. Louis Cardinals fan. Betty is survived by 3 children, 2 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
