Kansas PRIDE awards earned by Alton PRIDE
Community Achievement: 1986, 1987, 1991, 1993, 1996, 1997
(Community Achievement awards were changed to Community of Excellence awards.)
Community of Excellence (COE): 2000-2001; 2002-2003; 2004-2005; 2006-2007; 2008-2009; 2013-
2015; 2016-2018; 2019-2021; 2022-2024; 2025-2027
COEs are recognized in Kansas PRIDE’s Annual Review and on their Website, are eligible to apply for
Partners in PRIDE (PIP) grants, Project Excellence and Community Partner/Rising Star awards, plus
receive a trophy or plaque and a bar to add to their highway signs. Kansas PRIDE letters of
recommendation to submit with local grant applications are also available to COEs (upon request).
Eligibility requirements to maintain a COE status and qualify for perks throughout the current three-year
award period include submitting quarterly activity reports
Star Awards
(for special projects): 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007
(Award signs/plaques/trophies listed above always came with a monetary prize. The state PRIDE
program changed their awards program after 2009 and did not give out community awards until 2012.
After that time, no monetary prizes accompanied the signs/plaques/trophies that were received.)
