The "Double Crust Pie" contest is a one-class event open to all ages. It is set for Saturday, August 23, 2025, with entry drop-off times from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Hardman Hall building. Judging will take place after the parade. 

From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., pie and homemade ice cream will be for sale. The proceeds from ice cream sales will support Mt. Ayr Church's ministries. 

The winning pies will be auctioned off at 6 p.m. at the basketball courts. All pie sales go to the Alton American Legion Auxiliary for building maintenance.
